During the project, I relied on an instructional video to design a website using WordPress. However, I quickly realized that the video was based on an older version of WordPress, while the platform’s current interface had undergone significant updates. These changes included relocated menus, renamed buttons, and the replacement of the Classic Editor with the Gutenberg Block Editor, which features a different layout and workflow. As a result, following the video step-by-step became confusing, especially for beginners unfamiliar with WordPress. This mismatch led to delays, potential mistakes, such as saving incorrectly or deleting the wrong content, and the need to search for alternative instructions online. From this experience, I learned the importance of keeping tutorial materials updated in line with platform changes, as well as providing supplementary guides or notes that explain key differences between versions. For future projects, I recommend creating updated video tutorials, including side-by-side screenshots of old and new interfaces, and offering tips to help new users navigate changes confidently.
